Kirkland House Squatter Found Guilty of Trespassing

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Jill Lane was found guilty today of trespassing in the First Degree by a Kirkland jury.  Lane was arrested in June of 2010 after it was reported to the Kirkland Police Department that she had taken up residence in a lake front home that was owned by a local bank.  After an investigation conducted by the Kirkland Police Patrol Division and Investigations Unit, it was determined that Lane had no authority or permission to be living in the residence.  Bank officials and their security team had observed Lane living out of the residence for several weeks and reported the trespassing violation to the Police Department.  This was the first time a case of this nature had ever occurred in Kirkland.  Kirkland Police would like to thank everyone involved who assisted with the prosecution of this case.  For more information about this case, please contact Lieutenant Mike Murray, Kirkland Police Department at 425-587-3402.
