Election of next King County Executive and next steps
Dear fellow King County employee,
Yesterday, the people of King County voted for their next Executive.
While we wait for the announcement of the successful candidate, I want to provide you with an overview of the next steps between now and the certification of the election results on Nov. 25.
To prepare for the transition, I created a cross-department team to help the incoming Executive hit the ground running on their first day in office. This team has worked to develop comprehensive overview materials of each department, provide interim office space for the incoming transition team, and implement technology and other resources to ensure the important work of King County government continues as seamlessly as possible.
Between now and Nov. 25, our work continues as we focus on delivering critical services for the people of King County. We have an extraordinarily talented and experienced leadership team, who are ready to assist the incoming administration in any way we can, and we look forward to sharing our knowledge, insights, and recommendations.
We will ensure that we communicate regularly as transition actions take place over the next several weeks. And as always, we will continue to lead with our values, advance our priorities, and focus on our True North: Making King County a welcoming community where every person can thrive.
