King County Metro Transit’s summer service revisions begin Saturday, June 7.
Summer service revisions include Metro’s launch of the new RapidRide F Line, which replaces portions of routes 110 and 140 with faster and more frequent service between Burien Transit Center and the Landing in Renton via Tukwila and Southcenter, as well as routing or schedule revisions on routes 21, 121, 122, 154, 221, 271 and 331.
Additionally, as happens each summer, designated trips on routes 31, 32, 48, 65, 67, 68, 75, 167, 197, 205, 271, 277, 372 and 373 are suspended during summer quarter - Monday, June 16, through Friday, Sept. 19 – when significantly fewer people travel to and from UW. Regular service on these routes will resume on Monday, Sept. 22.
Metro encourages riders to review and revise their Transit Alert subscriptions as necessary.
The launch of Metro’s sixth RapidRide line is part of a three-times-a-year service change schedule during which Metro updates routes and schedules as needed to improve service and address the changing needs of transit customers, while operating within budget.
Summer revisions are posted online, and are also included in new purple timetables and an orange rider alert brochure. Revised timetables are available on Metro Online, or customers can call Metro Customer Information at 206-553-3000.
The information is also available in Metro’s online Trip Planner when a date of June 7 or later is used in a query to find a route, find a stop, find a schedule, track your bus or plan a trip.
Find out about other transit revisions in the greater Seattle area by visiting Metro’s transit partners at Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Water Taxi, Pierce Transit, Seattle Streetcar, Sound Transit and the Washington State Ferries.
Summer is also a busy time for activities, visitors, celebrations, sports and other events, as well as construction projects that may have impacts on transit service. Metro encourages everyone to ride transit to and from events, sign up for Transit Alerts, be aware of activities in your area, allow plenty of time, remember to plan your return trip and always check the online Service Advisories page before traveling, in order to know if there are any known events that might affect service.
Thank you for riding and for using Metro’s services.
