Route 133 ends Sept. 29, alternatives available
King County, Washington sent this bulletin at 09/14/2012 02:07 PM PDTMetro is making service changes this month.
Starting Sept. 29, Route 133 will be discontinued because it has low ridership compared to other routes in the Metro system. Alternative service is described below.
No direct alternative service will be available between Burien and the U District.
Service to downtown Seattle is provided by routes 121, 122 and 123 from the Burien Transit Center; by Route 113 from the Olsen/Myers Way Park and Ride, or by routes 113 and 120 from White Center. Transfer at Bay A in any station of the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel to routes 71, 72 or 73 to the U District, or Route 255 to Montlake.
Another option could be Metro’s Vanpool and VanShare program; call 206-625-4500, e-mail vanpool.information@kingcounty.gov, or visit this webpage: http://metro.kingcounty.gov/tops/van-car/van-car.html
Why is Metro making this change?
Metro is revising the bus system to make it more efficient and to get more people where they want to go. We’re restructuring bus routes to reduce duplication, make service more direct, and give riders better connections to RapidRide and popular destinations. We’re discontinuing some of our least productive routes and reinvesting the service hours in more heavily used corridors to reduce overcrowding and improve reliability. We’re also making many small changes to bus routings and schedules.
