Road Closure: Ames Lake-Carnation Rd NE between West Snoqualmie Valley Rd NE & NE 52nd St
7/21 to 7/24 - Ames Lake / Carnation Area

Crews will close the Ames Lake Bridge from Monday July 21st at 6 a.m. through Thursday July 24th at 5 p.m. on Ames Lake-Carnation Road NE between West Snoqualmie Valley Road NE and NE 52nd Street to replace damaged expansion joints.
The Ames Lake Bridge reopened to travelers on April 25, 2025. Since then, follow-up inspections by King County have identified an issue with the expansion joints. The bridge is structurally sound and safe to use, but it’s necessary to fix the bridge now to help prevent future problems. During the closure, crews will replace the expansion joints along with the completion of other punch list items. Taking care of the repair now while the bridge is still under warranty with the contractor will also save time, money and lessen the impact to the public in the future.
All vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians must use alternate routes during the closure.
We know how important this east-west route is for the Snoqualmie River Valley. Thank you for your patience and understanding as these needed repairs are made.
