Road Alert: Sahalee Way NE closure extended through 7/3

The full closure of Sahalee Way NE between NE 50th Street and NE 37th Way will remain in place through midnight on Thursday, July 3.

During excavation work to replace and rehabilitate underground pipes, crews encountered unexpected utilities, including eight-inch gas lines (twice the size originally anticipated). These discoveries have added complexity to the project, and our crews need more time to safely complete the work.

King County Road Services is coordinating closely with Metro Transit, emergency responders, and the City of Sammamish to keep them informed about the updated closure timeline.

If work is completed earlier in the day on Thursday, we will post an update on MyCommute with the latest information.

We recognize the disruption this closure causes and appreciate your patience as we work to safely complete this critical infrastructure upgrade. We know this has been challenging, and we are sincerely grateful to the community for your continued understanding and support.
