No-Cost Vaccine Visits Available through June – Call 206-848-0243
The In-Home Vaccination Program is offering COVID-19 vaccinations to AFHs through June 27, 2025. Flu and RSV vaccines can be given at the same time. If you schedule a visit for residents, caregivers and family members may participate too! The visits are no-cost. Most insurance plans are accepted. Anyone without insurance may receive free vaccinations while doses are available.
Are people still getting COVID-19 vaccines?
Yes! COVID-19 vaccines are still recommended, and many people are still choosing to get vaccinated. The 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccines were updated to better protect against the strains of COVID-19 illness that people are catching. People aged 65 and older have the greatest risk of becoming severely ill. An additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine boosts protection!
Are My Residents Eligible for COVID-19 Vaccines Now?
- Did your residents get their most recent COVID-19 vaccines before September 2024?
- Has it been more than 6 months since your residents aged 65 and older received COVID-19 vaccines?
If you answered “Yes” to either of these questions, please call 206-848-0243 or email vaccineinfo@kingcounty.gov to schedule a visit at no-cost. Visits are available through June only.
In-Home COVID-19 Vaccination Program Ending June 30
Unfortunately, King County’s In-Home COVID-19 Vaccination Program will end on June 30, 2025. This is due to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) terminating COVID-19 funding. Since spring 2021, the In-Home COVID-19 Vaccination Program has supported no-cost mobile COVID-19 vaccinations for King County residents most vulnerable to COVID-19-related illness and death. This included residents with difficulty leaving home, residents living in long-term congregate care settings such as adult family homes, assisted living facilities, and skilled nursing facilities, and low-income senior housing residents. Public Health – Seattle & King County is grateful to our partners — community members, healthcare facilities, organizations, and our mobile vaccine partners — for their tireless work that allowed this program to reach so many King County residents experiencing barriers to accessing vaccines.
How Can My AFH Access Vaccines After June 30?
- Contact your long-term care pharmacy to set up a mobile clinic at your facility. Most long-term care pharmacies offer vaccine visits for enrolled residents in adult family homes. Request a visit for COVID-19, flu, and routine vaccinations this fall.
- The Providence ElderPlace PACE program provides vaccinations for enrolled participants.
- If your residents don't receive medications from a long-term care pharmacy or Providence ElderPlace, encourage them to ask for vaccinations when they visit their doctor or pharmacy.
- Caregivers and family members may go to gov/findaclinic to find more information about how to access vaccines. Healthcare providers, local pharmacies, and school-based health centers offer vaccinations. Use a map to locate vaccination locations for children and uninsured adults. Make sure to call the vaccine location in advance to ask about availability, cost, and to schedule an appointment.
