Starting Monday, Jan. 3, Metro will restore weekday bus service that was temporarily suspended during the recent snowstorm, thanks to clearer roads and milder weather.
Some bus routes may continue to operate on snow routes or with chained shuttles in hilly or higher-altitude areas where road conditions remain difficult. Please visit “Service Advisories” to review any ongoing disruptions caused by winter weather or construction.
While all routes are running, a small percentage of trips may be cancelled and we recommend riders use Metro's real-time trip planning tools to see how this impacts their travel.

Real-time updates show whether a bus trip is operating, when it’s due to depart or if it’s been canceled.

Text for Departures allows riders to text their bus stop number to 62550 to receive updates on the next buses to arrive at the stop along with cancelation notices. Riders can save 62550 in their phones in advance. Metro’s real-time departure information can become less accurate during a storm and rough road conditions.

“Next departures” is available on both the Puget Sound Trip Planner webpage and the Puget Sound Trip Planner App. Riders can check these sites to see whether their trip is canceled or reporting its position and estimated arrival time.
Metro returned to operating active weekend bus routes this morning, Sunday, Jan. 2, with the exception of locations where road conditions limit travel.
Metro Customer Service Updates
Metro’s customer service call center reopens Monday, Jan. 3. Call 206-553-3000 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for assistance with trip planning and general information; and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for ORCA support and customer comments.
Metro’s Pass Sales Office also will be open normal hours Jan. 3, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. –to 4:30 p.m.
Water taxi, Access paratransit, and on-demand services

Water Taxi: The West Seattle route is operating its Sunday sailings today. Regular Vashon and West Seattle sailings are planned Monday, Jan. 3.

Access paratransit: Access will continue providing life sustaining services and will expand service as conditions continue to improve. Non-registered riders may be accommodated based on road conditions and capacity. Riders/customers who aren’t certified with Access should still call (206)-205-5000 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

On-demand services: Via to Transit in south Seattle and south King County and Ride Pingo to Transit in Kent are operating on regular routing. Both will return to regular service on Monday, Jan. 3.
