Weekend Service Impacts

Sound Transit Express Route 550 will be rerouted off 108 Ave NE between NE 6^th st and NE 4^th st. This reroute will run, Saturday 9/18 at 7 am to Sunday 9/19 at 6 pm and Saturday 9/25 at 7 am to Sunday 9/26 at 6 pm

Sunday night, September 19, through Thursday morning, September 23, overnight only from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM each night, Metro routes 48, 255 and 271, and Sound Transit Express Route 542, will be affected by the southbound only closure of the Montlake Bridge during construction.

Saturday - UW Husky football game

Starting at 11:15 am Routes 32, 75, 44, 45, 65, 67, 73,75, 255, and 372 will be rerouted to avoid congestion from the game.  Riders who want to continue on to Husky Stadium can walk or transfer to Metro Routes 48 or 271, or Sound Transit Express Route 542, southbound on 15th Av NE south of NE 45th St.

A shuttle service will run from Ballard, along Route 44, and Lake City, along Route 65 and 75, to the Huskey Stadium. You can find the pickup locations and schedule for the shuttles on our website.

Metro will additionally operate game day non-stop shuttles at the Eastgate, Houghton, Kingsgate and South Kirkland park and ride lots.

Sunday - Seahawks football game

Northbound Route 101 and 150 stop at 4^th Ave S & S Jackson St and stop 4^th Ave S & S Royal Brougham Way will be temporarily closed. Please head north to use stop at 4th Ave & James St or head south to use stop at Sodo Busway & S Royal Brougham Way.

Northbound Route 70 stop at S Main St & 3^rd Ave S will be temporarily closed. Please head north to use stop at Prefontaine Pl S & Yesler Way or Terrace St & 5^th Ave S.

October 2^nd Service Change

Big changes are coming to transit service starting Oct. 2 as King County Metro launches updated connections to three new Sound Transit Link light rail stations in Seattle. Metro also will restore 36 previously suspended bus routes across King County, add hundreds of bus trips, and revise and improve other service in partnership with City of Seattle. Together, these changes will support the region’s recovery and connect more riders to destinations.

New Service in Kent Area – Ride Pingo to Transit

New on-demand Metro service, Ride Pingo to Transit, has arrived in Kent!

People who live, work, or go to school within the Kent Valley or parts of Kent East Hill can download the Ride Pingo app for Android or iPhone or call 855-233-6043 to request an on-demand shared ride.

Trips must start or end at Kent Station or the Kent Valley Hub (S 212th St and 64th Ave S) and can connect to destinations within the designated service area. Riders can easily access jobs, shopping, Kent community center, services, and more.

Water Taxi expands Winter Schedule

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) worked with King County Metro to reach an agreement which will provide increased King County water taxi service to and from West Seattle this fall and winter. Under this agreement, the West Seattle water taxi will continue to operate at summertime service levels from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.

New bike racks on the Water Taxi can now hold big bikes

The West Seattle and Vashon Water Taxis have installed new bike racks that will hold both standard and “fat”—tire sizes as wide as 4.6 inches.

The popularity of bigger bikes, including electric bikes, has grown during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Until now, the size of the tires on these bikes have prevented riders from boarding the Water Taxi, since for safety reasons, all bikes must be securely stowed, and previous bike racks were too narrow to accommodate tire widths over 2.5 inches.

Second to Last Weekend to enjoy Trailhead Direct

This summer King County Parks and King County Metro are operating the Trailhead Direct service, featuring the Issaquah Alps and Mt Si routes, with a new Squak Mountain State Park trailhead stop added to the Issaquah Alps route.

The 2021 Trailhead Direct season will operate each weekend through Sept. 26. Grab your hiking boots and hit the trails!
