Starting Monday, July 6, King County Roads will return to the slide-prone area on NE Novelty Hill Road, between 243rd Ave NE and West Snoqualmie Valley Road, to permanently shore up the unstable hillside that caused the road’s temporary closure earlier this year. The repairs will require a full road closure for three weeks. Daytime single lane closures may be needed for one week after the full closure.
• ROAD CLOSED July 6 through July 24: Starting 9 a.m. Monday, July 6 until 5 p.m. Friday, July 24, both directions of NE Novelty Hill Road from 243rd Ave NE to West Snoqualmie Valley Road NE will be closed around the clock for slide repair work. A signed detour will direct eastbound traffic to Avondale Road NE. Westbound traffic will be detoured via West Snoqualmie Valley Road NE. Please allow plenty of time to travel through the area.
• July 25 through July 31: Daytime single lane closures from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flaggers will direct traffic around the closure. Motorists should expect delays.
