You can decrease the risk to yourself, and importantly, to those who are more vulnerable to coronavirus:
- Stay home when you are sick. Do not go out in public when you are sick.
- Avoid medical settings in general unless necessary. Healthcare facilities are at capacity.
- If you are ill in any way call your doctor’s office first before going in.
- Even if you are not ill, avoid visiting hospitals, long term care facilities or nursing homes to the extent possible. If you do need to visit one of these facilities limit your time there and keep 6 feet away from patients.
- Do not go to the emergency room unless essential. Emergency rooms need to be able to serve those with the most critical needs. If you have symptoms like cough, fever, or other respiratory problems, contact your regular doctor first.
- Practice excellent personal hygiene habits, including washing your hands with soap and water frequently, coughing into a tissue or your elbow, and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
- Stay away from people who are ill, especially if you are at higher risk for coronavirus.
- Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects (like doorknobs and light switches). Regular household cleaners are effective.
- Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids, eat healthy foods, and manage your stress to keep your immunity strong.
This edition of Plane Talk is light since resources have been focused on the coronavirus outbreak.

Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) performed a water salute for the senior captain at Weyerhaeuser to celebrate his last flight. It was a gorgeous day and the mountain was out. |

Davey Pilley, left, and Kevin Donohue staffed a table at the 37th annual Northwest Aviation Conference & Trade Show in late February at the state fairgrounds in Puyallup. Along with other staff from Operations, Airfield Maintenance and Finance/Administration, they answered airport and pilot questions and handed out giveaways. More than 1,000 people stopped by the booth. A great time was had by all! |

The airport is no longer holding workshops for the March 19-20 Women Fly event to minimize the spread of the coronavirus. We look forward to participating next year in this annual event for young women interested in aviation, aerospace, and STEM futures.
As of March 6, the Museum of Flight had not posted a cancellation for the event. Get updates from the Museum of Flight.
