Metro Transit Park and Ride Update – Metro has expanded permit parking options at high-demand park & ride lots

A limited number of spaces are now reserved for both solo driver (SOV) and carpool
(HOV) permit parking at the Aurora Village, Shoreline, Kenmore, Bothell, Redmond,
Bear Creek, South Kirkland, Issaquah Highlands and Tukwila park and ride lots.

Carpool (HOV) permit spaces continue to be reserved at Eastgate, South Renton,
Kingsgate and Green Lake park and ride lots, and Northgate Transit Center East lot.

Permit parking times
Permit parking spaces are reserved on weekdays, Monday-Friday, from 4:00 AM
to 10:00 AM.

After 10:00 AM and on weekends, any remaining permit spaces become available
for general transit customer parking.

Permit parking signs
Permit parking areas are located near bus stops at the designated facilities and are
marked with black and white signs.

All other spaces - including spaces with blank white signs - are available for general
transit customer parking on a first-come, first-served basis without a permit.

Designated ADA parking spaces are not included in or affected by the permit parking
program.

Parking permit enforcement
Any vehicle parked without a valid permit in a restricted space during the permit period
is subject to warnings, monetary citations and impound.

How to apply for a parking permit
While permits are not required to use general parking at Metro park & ride lots, they are
a great option for transit riders who need the reliability and flexibility to arrive later in the
morning and find a space.

Permit holders must ride the bus, carpool or vanpool at least 12 days per month to
qualify for monthly permit renewal.

Apply here for your permit.

Prices vary by location; a discounted rate is available for ORCA LIFT participants.

Metro also offers free monthly carpool (HOV) parking permits for any group of two or
more transit riders who regularly drive together to any of the park and ride lots listed
above.
