PSERN is excited to announce that Dispatch Train the Trainer training begins on September 9, 2019. Classes are scheduled through September 20, 2019 and we have 240 spots. The PSERN team has been in contact with each dispatch center and have worked to identify a master trainer. As a reminder, a master trainer will attend our training course, at no training cost to the dispatch center, for a four hour period of time, and then over the course of time train their peers on the new equipment. PSERN has created a secured webpage that will house all of our curriculum and educational videos that can be accessed at any time. Curriculum posted will be customizable for your dispatch center and your agency’s individual needs. If you are unsure if you have a Master Trainer signed up or want more information about training, please contact us at PSERN-INFO@kingcounty.gov

Before your agency can receive new radios, a Service Level Agreement (SLA) must be signed between PSERN and your agency. The SLA outlines terms and conditions for your agency regarding your new radios and use of the new PSERN system. It is vital for PSERN project staff to have correct contact information within your agency. One of the most important points of contact that you need to provide to PSERN is the ultimate signatory authority to sign the Radio End User SLA. The person to sign the SLA must have the ability to commit your agency to financial obligations for the next 20 years. (i.e. Department Director, Finance Director, City Manager, etc.)
We will continue contacting agencies over the coming months and have posted an Agency Contact Form on our website. Please feel free to download and fill out the Agency Contact Form at any time and return the form to PSERN-INFO@kingcounty.gov. If you have questions please feel free to please call 206-47-PSERN / 206-477-7376.

It is important that PSERN gets your BDA/DAS information. Please register your BDA/DAS today, and follow the two step registration and verification process listed below:
- Contact your Fire Marshal or Building Official to validate local code requirements for BDA/DAS.
- If using a broadband or Class “B” BDA/DAS, you must also register it with the Federal Communications Commission
In March of this year the PSERN Project staff requested end user agencies preliminary radio inventory. We are incredibly pleased that we received inventories from all 199 agencies with a total count just shy of 18,000 radios. Since March the project has been distilling the information that was given to us and our technicians have been combing through the data. Due to some discrepancies between our inventory records, the radio shops records, and the inventories agencies submitted, there were instances where we changed inventory data.
If we made changes to your agency’s radio inventory form PSERN staff will be contacting you within the next few months with an updated radio inventory. Once you receive the updated radio inventory please take some time to review it and ensure that the modifications that we made encompass your agency’s current radio count and account for your agency’s future needs.
Until then please keep track of all of your agencies radio inventory as PSERN will be asking for a FINAL radio inventory in Q4 of 2020. This final radio inventory will determine our order with Motorola.
