PSERN project staff continue to work with Odelia Pacific Corporation (OPC) to identify Distributed Antenna Signal (DAS) housed in buildings in King County. At this time, 610 DAS have been identified in King County and OPC continues to help compile further data coming in. Developing a comprehensive database of all DAS is vital for the PSERN Project as all current and newly installed DAS must meet specific technical requirements in order to connect to the new PSERN system. If you have questions about how your DAS may be affected by PSERN, please contact our team by calling 206-47-PSERN / 206-477-7376 or emailing DAS-PSERN@kingcounty.gov.

The project is happy to announce that we have officially added new sites to help with improved in building coverage for first responders. These sites will specifically focus on improving coverage in Downtown Seattle, Downtown Bellevue, and the greater Renton area. Thank you to the In-building Task Force for their and recommendations, and thank you to everyone who helped make this additional coverage happen for our first responders.

This is an exciting time for PSERN as the distribution of radios to end users is coming soon. However, before your agency can receive new radios, a Service Level Agreement (SLA) must be signed. The SLA outlines terms and conditions for your agency regarding your new radios and use of the new PSERN system. Around 110 agencies need to sign SLAs by April 2020 in order before distribution of radios can begin. PSERN staff needs your agency’s updated contact info in order to help plan and coordinate this effort. It is vital for PSERN project staff to have correct contact information within your agency. We need the following contacts for:
- Billing
- Fleet/Motor pool
- Responsible for coordinating your agency’s vehicle installations
- Operations and/or Logistics for radio deployment
- Person responsible for coordinating the radio inventory and exchange process (includes managing your internal tagging and equipment inventory requirements)
- Technical
- Will be responsible for answering any questions regarding the current radios
- Training
- Will be responsible for coordinating your agency’s training sessions
- Ultimate authority to sign Radio End User SLA
- Responsible for signing the SLA (i.e. Department Director, Finance Director, City Manager, etc.) Note: It should be noted that PSERN needs to know who has ultimate authority for signing the SLA. This person must have the authority to commit your agency to PSERN.
We will continue contacting agencies over the coming months and have posted an Agency Contact Information Sheet on our website. Please feel free to download and fill out the Agency Contact Information Sheet at any time and return the form to PSERN-INFO@kingcounty.gov. If you have questions please feel free to please call 206-47-PSERN / 206-477-7376.
