King County, Washington sent this bulletin at 06/12/2019 02:00 PM PDTUpcoming lane restrictions due to chip sealing, June 17-28
Upcoming lane restrictions are planned in unincorporated southeast King County for chip sealing work. Chip sealing is one of the most cost effective means to preserve roadways.
Chip sealing locations include:
- Sweeney Road SE / 196th Avenue SE from 196th Avenue SE to SE Petrovitksy Road
- Thomas Road SE from Kent Black Diamond Road SE to SE Covington Sawyer Road
- SE 416th Street from 284th Avenue SE to 212th Avenue SE
- Peter Grubb Road/SE 232nd Street from SE 224th Street to SE Petrovitsky Road
- 284th Avenue SE / Veazie-Cumberland Road SE from SE 440th Street to SE 352nd Street
- 212th Avenue SE from SE 400th Street to SE 416th Street
- Cumberland-Kanaskat Road SE from SE 352nd Street to SE Retreat Kanaskat Road
The work will require daily lane restrictions June 17 to June 28 from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Start times for work near schools will be adjusted to 9:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. to avoid interfering with student drop off and pick up. Due to the nature of the work, specific locations and actual work day, time and duration may vary. During lane restrictions, motorists will be flagged through work zones. Expect delays. Once chip sealing work is complete, temporary reduced speed limit signs will be placed on site as there may be loose rock present on road surfaces.
