Transit Alert – Ride transit to sporting events and weekend activities; expect some reroutes & delays; text your stop ID to 62550

Some King County area transit service will be affected by congestion in and around
Century Link Field on Thursday night and Husky Stadium on Saturday.

With two major sporting events in the Seattle area, fans are encouraged to plan ahead,
share rides where possible, leave early, allow plenty of time and expect extra crowds
and possible delays, especially around parking areas, rail stations and other transit
facilities.

Even when it is affected by traffic, construction, temporary reroutes or delays, riding
transit is still a great way to get around our community and to most local events and
activities, where there is usually congestion and limited parking.

Transit reroute start and end times, routing, and other details may be subject to change.
Use regularly published timetables, allow plenty of travel time and expect possible
delays.

Text for departures

Thursday, November 15
Seahawks Game - 5:20 PM kick-off
Commuters heading home and fans heading to the game are advised to expect possibly
significant transit service delays before Thursday night Seahawks game at CenturyLink
Field

Both for ease of travel, and reducing traffic congestion, Seahawks fans are encouraged
to ride regularly scheduled transit service, including Sound Transit Link light rail, to
and from the game.

There is lots of regular transit service to and from the stadium area. Nearly all routes
that travel to or through downtown Seattle stop near CenturyLink Field, and there are
many area park-and-ride lots where fans can park for free, and ride regularly scheduled
transit service
to the stadium area.

Payment of a valid regular fare is required on all transit trips.

Most game-related traffic impacts are expected to be in the SODO, Stadium, Pioneer
Square, downtown Seattle and adjacent areas
, however service that travels near or
through those neighborhoods could be delayed in other areas as well.

Metro Route 21 will be rerouted off of 1st Av S between S Holgate St and Edgar
Martinez Dr S, about three hours before the start - and continue until about one hour
after the end - of major stadium events.
Start and end times may vary.

Saturday, November 17
Husky Football  - 1:30 PM kick-off

Ride Link light rail to Husky Stadium.
