Transit Alert - Ride transit or the West Seattle Water Taxi to Sub Pop at Alki on 8/11; expect delays & minor reroutes
King County, Washington sent this bulletin at 08/09/2018 09:58 AM PDTOn Saturday, August 11, from 6:00 AM until the end of service, Metro Route 50 and the DART Route 775 King County Water Taxi shuttle will have minor reroutes in the Alki area during the Sub Pop Records 30th Anniversary Festival.
Ride Transit to Sub Pop
In spite of the minor reroutes at Alki, transit is still the best way to get to this event. The Alki area has very limited parking and many streets will be blocked or restricted. Route 50 and DART 775 will still serve the area near the festival.
Both Metro bus Route 50 and the King County Water Taxi West Seattle route are providing extra service for this event.
Plan your transit trip
For complete information about planning your transit trip to Alki, visit Metro’s online regional Puget Sound Trip Planner. Itinerary planning; detailed information about routes and schedules; next departures and tracking are available.
All bus routes that serve the SODO Busway, as well as Link light rail; Metro routes 21, 22, 120, 125, 128, and the RapidRide C Line, connect with Route 50.
Route 22 and the RapidRide C Line also serve the Alaska Junction in West Seattle, where transfers can be made with Route 50, and where Sub Pop is operating a private shuttle to Alki.
Metro’s DART Route 775 Water Taxi shuttle operates between Seacrest Marina and Alki. Sub Pop will also operate a private shuttle.
Extra trips will be added to Route 50 during this event, but will be subject to traffic and other variables and are not reflected in the schedule. The King County Water Taxi West Seattle route is also providing extra service for this event. Use the regularly published schedule for both, then expect service more frequently as local conditions permit.
When planning transit trips, visit Metro’s Service Advisories page to find out if service you are riding is affected by any planned reroutes. Transit reroute start and end times may be subject to change.

Be sure to plan the return trip as well, and read all designated service advisories.
Fares
Payment of a valid regular fare is required on all transit trips.
ORCA customers are encouraged to reload ORCA cards at ticket vending machines if necessary, prior to Saturday evening, as overnight maintenance will prevent machines from accepting credit cards after 10 PM. Alternatives, if needed, include cash and the Transit GO Ticket app.
