Rail Removal and Interim Gravel Trail Construction Begins

Dear Friend of the ERC,

Construction crews arrive on site this week! They will begin pulling rails and laying down gravel for 5 miles of interim trail. We will let you know when crews have reached major milestones, but in the meantime please check our ERC website for updates.

ERC Winter Construction

Two sections open by early 2018

A four-mile section from Gene Coulon Park in Renton to Newcastle Beach Park in Bellevue, with connections at either end to the existing Lake Washington Loop Trail.

A one-mile section from Northup Way to the Cross Kirkland Corridor at 108th Avenue Northeast, with a planned SR 520 Trail connection by spring 2018. This section will link Bellevue's Spring District to bike lanes on 120th Avenue Northeast.

(Click on the map to see how the rail removal and interim trail work will move through the corridor.)

Signs at Intersections

For those of you who live near the trail, look for signs at intersections letting you know when work is coming your way. For questions, please contact Robert Bean [Capital Project Manager] at rbean@kingcounty.gov or (206)-263-8850.
