Transit Alert – Metro will operate Husky P&R and neighborhood shuttles & some regular transit service in the Montlake area will be rerouted on 10/22
King County, Washington sent this bulletin at 10/21/2016 01:29 PM PDTOn Saturday, October 22, Metro will operate shuttle service from eight King County park and ride lots, as well as some extra neighborhood service, and some regularly scheduled Metro Transit service will be rerouted in the Montlake and Husky Stadium area during Saturday’s UW Husky football home game.
Park and Ride shuttle service
Metro operates game-day non-stop shuttle service to Husky Stadium from the Eastgate P&R, Federal Way/S 320th St P&R, Houghton P&R, Kingsgate P&R, Northgate Transit Center, Shoreline P&R, South Kirkland P&R and South Renton P&R for Saturday’s game.
Riding Link to Husky games and U District Shuttle service
Riding Link light rail is the new best way to get from south King County, the Rainier Valley, Beacon Hill, downtown Seattle and Capitol Hill to Husky games. UW Link Station is located just outside Husky Stadium.
For quick game-day service directly to and from Husky Stadium, ride Link from Bay A at any downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel station. The Link corridor is further served by parking capacity at Tukwila International Blvd Station and the new Angle Lake Station, and by Metro and Sound Transit bus routes at every station, that make connections from many other areas.
While some regular Metro Transit bus service is rerouted out of the Montlake and stadium area in order to accommodate game shuttles and other traffic, Metro will operate shuttle service between UW Link Station and Campus Parkway along NE Pacific Street. Buses are designated as ‘Shuttle’ and are scheduled to operate about every 7½ minutes.
Extra neighborhood service
Metro also operates some extra trips on regular service bus routes from the Ballard and Lake City neighborhoods.
Montlake & Stadium area bus reroutes
In order to accommodate P&R shuttles and other game-related traffic, and to stay on schedule, regular service trips on Metro bus routes 44, 45, 65, 71, 73, 75, 271 and 372 will be rerouted to the University District along NE Campus Parkway during Husky games. Metro provides UW Link shuttle bus service every 7½ minutes to and from Husky Stadium, and, for many, Husky Stadium is within walking distance along NE Pacific Street or the University of Washington campus.
