SILVER LININGS Online Exhibit
2020 has been quite a year! In this environment of bad news headlines, it can be challenging to find and focus on the positive, but that’s exactly what many of us are doing. It is impressive and inspiring to hear about the “silver linings” people are finding during these difficult times. We want to see the creative expression of YOUR silver linings. Is it more time with your family? Learning a new skill? Taking up a new hobby? Resetting your priorities? Show us your joy!
The exhibit is open to any creative endeavor – photographs, paintings, poems, recipes, short films, songs, or stories – anything you can dream up. Submit your projects as part of the online 2020 – SILVER LININGS exhibit at KentCreates.com. The top 5 winners will receive a $200 honorarium, and their work will appear in the featured carousel on the Kent Creates homepage!

Hike of the Week
As snow has started to fall in the high country, it’s time to move our hiking to lower elevations! The CCC Trail off of Middle Fork Road, just east of North Bend, is an easy route that offers one final chance to experience the fall colors before the leaves are gone.
While the hike can be done in several directions, we recommend starting at the large parking area about 12 miles up Middle Fork Road; the trail starts across the road, then heads through the Middle Fork Campground. The total length of the trail is 6.4 miles with 200’ of elevation gain, reaching a high point of 1400’. After the hike, enjoy some grub in North Bend or Snoqualmie.

The month of November is “Chum Salmon Month” in the Puget Sound region! Opportunities to catch these hard fighting salmon abound in both Saltwater Estuaries and Rivers this month. In saltwater, target staging Chums at productive spots like Hoodsport, Kennedy Creek, Chico Creek, Johns Creek, and Allen. Some of the top rivers for these fish include the Green, Skykomish, Skagit, and Whatcom Creek. Both Fly fishing and Gear Fishing are productive. Fly fishers score in the saltwater with flies like the Chum Candy, Green Weeny, and Comet in Chartreus Green and Pink. While fishing in the rivers, try a Purple Egg Sucking Leech or large Bunny Leeches in Black, Purple, and Pink.
Gear Anglers – in the salt fishing an Anchovy under a float can be deadly. Corkies and yarn, or floats and jigs will also produce! In the rivers, it’s hard to beat a pink jig tipped with prawn fished under a float. Have fun out there with these large, aggressive, hard fighting fish!
