Spring Brings New Construction Project on 80th Avenue NE Construction is scheduled to begin on the 80th Avenue NE Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements Project in June 2026. The improvements will be along 80th Avenue NE between Bothell Way and NE 185th Street. As the project name suggests, the improvements include continuous sidewalks on both sides of the street, safer crossings for school children at existing school bus stops for pedestrian safety, added or improved bike lanes for bicycle safety, and traffic calming measures (chicanes) with reduced speed limit of 30mph. A traffic detour around the work zone will be implemented during construction along NE 192nd Street and 73rd Ave NE, except for local residents and service providers. Utility relocation work (utility poles and gas relocation, water meter/service upgrades) will commence prior to construction in April/May 2026. To learn more about the project, visit 80th Avenue Sidewalk and Bike Lane Project. |
