KENMORE, Wash. –The Kenmore Farmers Market will open this week on June 5, next to Town Square. The Kenmore Farmers Market runs every Wednesday, June through August from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Opening day festivities will include welcome remarks from the mayor, a special visit from Kenmore’s new Hank Heron mascot, a scavenger hunt, and free market tote bag giveaways.
This is the Market’s third year in operation and this season brings even more offerings. With new vendors, kids programming, and SNAP Market Match available, there is something for everyone at the Market.
The Kenmore Farmers Market is proud to offer a wide variety of Food Access Programs for an inclusive and welcoming market shopping experience. The programs include SUN Bucks, EBT/SNAP, SNAP Market Match, and WIC & Senior FMNP. Stop by the City of Kenmore information booth during the Market to learn more, or to utilize your food access benefits.
This year, The City of Kenmore welcomes a new Farmers Market Lead, Annie Bradshaw. Annie joins the Market team with a background in food sciences and dietetics. Annie has a strong passion and love for farmers markets and will bring new skills and expertise to the market this summer. “I’m so excited to be a part of the Kenmore Farmers Market this season," said Annie. "I can’t wait to see the local food and crafts our community brings to the table.”
Two brand new farms are joining the Kenmore Farmers Market this season: Cabrera Farms and J&E Produce. Cabrera is a certified organic farm that grows and sells a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. J&E Produce grows and sells a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and is located in the Yakima Valley.
The Market also welcomes a new fresh flower vendor, Xiong Cha and Cha Garden. Xiong Cha is a family-owned flower farm out of Snohomish, WA. Additionally, the Market will don new bakers, food processors, food trucks, and more this year.
In addition to the new vendors, popular local favorites will return including Boaz Coffee, Maria’s Cheese Puffs, KDJ’s The Bakerie, Lavalake Jewelry, and The Lonely Pine. The Cottage Bakery out of Perrinville, WA will return this summer, offering homemade breads, granola, cookies, tarts and more.
There will be a new kids booth, which will include arts and crafts and fun market activities for kids of all ages. The kids booth will run on July 3, July 17, July 31, August 21, and August 28.
