The Kenmore Top 4: August 12, 2022

Last night, the City of Kenmore hosted a Grand Opening Celebration of the West Sammamish River Bridge and invited the public to celebrate on the bridge deck with live music and entertainment, food, and other free tokens of appreciation. Over 2,000 community members attended the event. “This was our way of saying thank you to all of our residents for supporting the bridge project,” Mayor Nigel Herbig said. The City of Kenmore monitors the water quality at Log Boom Park regularly, and although other beaches in the area have recently closed due to bacterial pollution, recent tests show that the water quality at the park is safe for swimming. During the summer, the swimming beach at Log Boom Park is tested for bacterial pollution on a weekly basis and tested for toxic algae if there are visual signs of a bloom present. Testing results are uploaded each week and can be viewed here.

Playing this weekend at the Kenmore Community Club, The Kenmore Quickies - Tall Tales: As If Theatre, in partnership with The Kenmore Heritage Society, is having a short play festival with four performances this weekend inspired by prompts from Kenmore’s history. They've produced eight original works written by local playwrights. Learn about Kenmore's history and enjoy the show!

The Kenmore Public Boathouse thriving after its first year open! Over 150 athletes from Inglemoor, Bothell, and North Creek High Schools, and the Kenmore Community Rowing Club are now actively enjoying healthy, community-based rowing activities at the public boathouse at the north end of Rhododendron Park. The boathouse programs are available for youth and adults alike, with scholarship opportunities available. A new entity has formed to support the ongoing efforts of this facility and community; the Friends of the Kenmore Boathouse.
