Public Works Crews

Snow and Ice on Roads

Driving in this weather, combined with some of our hills, is hazardous! Public Works salted and sanded roads again last night and treated again with de-icer early this morning. But, due to below freezing temperatures, roads remain very icy and dangerous this morning. Please stay off the roads if possible and if you do have to drive, please take it very slow and increase your following distance. Remove all snow and ice from your vehicle before driving.

School is out again today and Republic Services will not be operating. Metro Bus 244 is not running this morning, check Metro's page for more bus route adjustments.

SR 522 is in pretty good shape. Juanita Dr and Simonds Rd are a little better than yesterday, but they might start to worsen as the day progresses and ice compacts, so avoid those hills if you can. Public Works continues to work issues, treat roads, and snowplow in priority order, clearing routes for emergency response, main arterials, and buses first, then neighborhoods. We know it's frustrating, and our crews are working hard, but they just can't get to everyone. See the priority route map here.  Follow @kenmorewa on Twitter for the latest road closure and safety information. And, don't forget to check in on your neighbors!
