Alert Northshore

Sign Up for Alert Northshore

Kenmore residents have a new way of receiving emergency notifications from the City of Kenmore: Alert Northshore. 

Alert Northshore allows City officials to text, email or phone all or targeted areas in Kenmore in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action, such as an evacuation, contaminated water, hazardous chemical spill, road closures, etc. This service is available to those who live, work, or own property within the boundaries of the cities of Kenmore or Lake Forest Park.

W&W Open House

Walkways and Waterways Open House Review

On Thursday, March 22, the City of Kenmore hosted an Open House on the Walkways and Waterways Squire's Landing and Log Boom parks projects. Thirty-five citizens attended the meeting to learn about project design refinements and engaged with designers and planners to have their questions answered.

Business Open House

Kenmore Business Open House April 5

Come network and get to know your local businesses at the semi-annual Kenmore Business Open House on Thursday, April 5, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Kenmore City Hall. This free event is sponsored by the City of Kenmore and the Kenmore Business Alliance. We encourage you to bring marketing materials for your organization.

NUD Gardening

Northshore Utility District to Host Sustainable Gardening Classes April 5 and April 24

Northshore Utility District and the Saving Water Partnership are offering free gardening classes to help you create beautiful, healthy gardens and landscapes with less water and chemicals. Classes are taught by local master gardeners and landscape professionals, with practical advice you can put to work right away. Classes will take place on Thursday, April 5 and Tuesday, April 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Northshore Utility District, 6830 NE 185th Street.

Hydroplane Cup

Fifth Annual Kenmore Hydroplane Cup April 7

On Saturday, April 7, the Seattle Outboard Association will host the fifth annual Kenmore Hydroplane Cup. Opening ceremonies start at 10:00 a.m. at the Kenmore Boat Launch, 17150 68th Avenue NE, with exhibition races to begin at noon.

On Friday, April 6, the community is invited to the Hydro Happy Hour at the 192 Brewery, 7324 NE 175th Street from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Meet past and present hydroplane drivers and check out the hydroplanes on display.

WSCP walks

Wallace Swamp Creek Park Nature Walks Start April 9

You are invited to participate in the City’s free guided nature walks at Wallace Swamp Creek Park. On the second Monday of each month April through October, a volunteer parks steward will host a 1.5 - 2 hour-long tour and explore two miles of paved and primitive trails through the 25-acre park. 

Tours start at 9:00 a.m. at the kiosk at Wallace Swamp Creek Park parking lot, 19851 73rd Avenue NE. Participants under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent.

Cultural Community Fair

Cultural Community Fair April 13

The Cultural Community Fair on Friday, April 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Kenmore City Hall will provide an opportunity for Northshore community members to network with businesses, non-profits, and each other. Activities include art for kids, entertainment, and food.

This event is sponsored by the Arts of Kenmore, City of Kenmore, El Siete Dias, and BizDiversity.

 

Latex Paint Recycling Event April 14

Recycle excess latex paint on Saturday, April 14 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology, 11605 132nd Avenue NE, Kirkland. There is a nominal fee depending on the number and size of latex paint cans recycled.

Free state parks

Free Days to Visit Washington State Parks April 14 and April 22

Day-use visitors will not need a Discover Pass to visit State Parks on Spring Day, Saturday, April 14 and Earth Day, Sunday, April 22In Kenmore, this means you can discover Saint Edward State Park, or visit the neighboring Bridle Trails and Lake Sammamish State Parks for free. Free days only apply to day-use access by vehicle, not overnight stays or rented facilities.
