March 5 - 9 Proclaimed as "Vicki L. Sherwood Week" in the City of Kenmore

Principal Vicki Sherwood will be retiring from her position as Principal at Inglemoor High School on March 9. At its February 26 meeting, City Council proclaimed the week of March 5 through March 9 as "Principal Vicki L. Sherwood Week" in the City of Kenmore to honor her leadership, community partnership, and exemplary service to the community.
Principal Sherwood began her position as Assistant Principal at Inglemoor High School in 1983 and served has as Principal since 1992. During her time, she brought the school to prominence by improving and expanding programs, activities, and opportunities for her students including the International Baccalaureate, DECA, music and drama programs.
Mayor David Baker presented Principal Sherwood a Key to the City, an honor reserved for those individuals who have served the Kenmore community in highly significant ways.
John Loy, a previous Vice Principal at Inglemoor High School, will serve as Interim Principal until the Northshore School District finds a suitable replacement.
Several colleagues spoke highly of Principal Sherwood during the City Council meeting, describing her as "a loyal leader for the school community" and a "true Viking".
After her retirement, Principal Sherwood plans on spending time with her husband, tending to her hobbies, and mentoring future principals for the Northshore School District.
