62nd
Ave NE Corridor Improvement Project
Construction has started on the corridor improvement project along
62nd Avenue NE. This project will enhance mobility and safety by installing a sidewalk and planting strip on the east side of 62nd Avenue NE between SR 522 and NE 185th Street. Three traffic circles will be installed at NE 182nd, NE 184th and NE 185th intersections. Sharrows (striping identifying shared use lanes between bicycles and vehicles) will be added to the roadway for an improved bicycle facility.Construction is expected to be completed this fall.
There are many ways to enjoy Kenmore's waterfront as Lake Washington and the Sammamish River offer many opportunities for hand- and motor-powered activities.
If you're interested in trying out a canoe, kayak, stand-up paddle board (SUP), or dragon boat, stop by the Kenmore Waterfront Activities Center (KWAC) during practices. Located at Squire's Landing Park, 7353 NE 175th St., KWAC welcomes newcomers and offers free dragon boating classes to beginners.
WhatsSup Stand Up Paddle Surf & Kayak opened its Kenmore location at Log Boom Park for the season. Here, you can rent a kayak, SUP, canoe, or bike, and take classes. Additionally, you can join the SUP Club at Squire's Landing Park, 7353 NE 175th St. They are open 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on weekends, and 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays.
The Kenmore Boat Launch, located at 17150 68th Ave NE, has access to Lake Washington and the Sammamish River and is open to the public year-round. Discover Pass required.
Lastly, Harbour Village Marina, located at 6155 NE 175th St., is open to the public during the day, and is connected to Log Boom Park via a pedestrian bridge located on the east side of the pier.

YMCA Summer Lunch Program at City Hall
Join
us for lunch! The Northshore YMCA is providing FREE summer lunches for children
18 and under weekdays, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., from July 6 through August 30 at
Kenmore City Hall, 18120 68th Ave NE. All children are welcome to
come enjoy lunch, engage in activities and meet new friends.
Kenmore Art Show at Bastyr University June 21 - 25
The Arts of Kenmore brings you the 19th annual Kenmore Art Show featuring juried, original works of art that include paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, artisan works, youth art and art made from repurposed materials. This year's show theme is 'Curiosity.' The art show will take place at Bastyr University, 14500 Juanita Drive NE, June 21 through June 25. The opening reception will take place Wednesday, June 21, at 5:30 p.m.
We
are excited to be bringing a new event to Kenmore this year! Movies @ the
Square is a six-piece summer movie series that will feature family-friendly
favorites shown on a large inflatable screen outdoors at the new Kenmore Town
Square, 6728 NE 181st St. Food trucks and preshow entertainment will begin at
7:30 p.m. and movies will begin at dusk. Bring a blanket or low-back chair and
cozy up under the stars for this summer’s biggest hits. Alcohol is not
permitted.

Kenmore Community Market Thursdays
June through August

Park Northshore Church is hosting a weekly community market that services
neighbors in Kenmore and surrounding communities with goodies from local
farmers, crafters, food trucks, and artisans. The market takes place at the
church parking lot, 18737 68th Ave NE, Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. -
8:00 p.m., now through August 31. There is ample parking at the church.
Care Day is a day devoted to connecting neighbors in the Northshore area with immediate access to the services and resources they need. Attendees enjoy a hot meal and have access to free health services, groceries, haircuts, housing, public benefits, referrals to employment training, and much more. This event takes place Saturday, June 29 at Northshore Junior High, 12101 NE 160th St, Bothell from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Thank you to the support of local businesses and organization for making this event possible.
You
are invited to participate in the City’s free guided nature walks at Wallace
Swamp Creek Park. On the first Monday of each month June through October,
a volunteer parks steward will host a 1.5 - 2 hour-long tour and explore two
miles of paved and primitive trails through the 25-acre park.
Tours
start at 9:00 a.m. at the kiosk at Wallace Swamp Creek Park parking lot, 19851
73rd Ave NE. Participants under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by
a parent.
Watch
the night sky light up and have a fun-filled Fourth of July! The Kenmore
Fireworks Show presented by Frank Lumber blasts off at 10:00 p.m. from the Log
Boom Park pier (17415 61st Ave NE). Prior to the fireworks show, join in the
festivities with fun activities and food vendors from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The event is free and all you need to bring is a blanket or chair!
As
a reminder, personal fireworks are prohibited in Kenmore city limits.
Kenmore Summer Concert Series Returns July 6
Put
your dancing shoes on and celebrate the 15th annual Kenmore Summer Concert
Series. These free community events run for six consecutive Thursdays starting
July 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Saint Edward State Park, 14445 Juanita Drive
NE. Parking for these events are FREE. A Washington State Parks Discover Pass
will not be required to park in the designated concert parking area starting at
4:30 p.m.
Concert-goers
are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic dinners to share a
special summer night under the open sky. Food vendors will also be on-site
throughout the series. Alcohol is not permitted. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are
welcome to join the festivities.
