On January 10, 2020 Intercity Transit is partnering with the Olympia Timberland Library to take storytime on the road!
Starting in front of the library building, children and their participating caregivers will get a short lesson on how to ride the bus, and then board an actual Intercity Transit bus for a story and song-filled ride to the bus depot, featuring an exciting ride through the bus wash!
There are two Rolling Storytimes: one beginning at 10:15 a.m., and one at 11:30 a.m. Space on the bus is limited, so reserve your seat by registering online, or by calling 360-352-0595. Registration opens January 3, 2020.

Intercity Transit’s Walk N Roll program helps schools and community partners organize bike rodeo events by providing a bike rodeo kit and assisting with planning and implementing events.
A bike rodeo is an event that provides elementary-aged children with the opportunity to learn, practice, and demonstrate bike handling and safety skills in a fun, safe, and encouraging atmosphere.
Request assistance with a bike rodeo by contacting our Youth Education Specialist, Kerri Wilson at kwilson@intercitytransit.com or 360- 705-5855.
The Walk N Roll Bike Shop is open Wednesday, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. We are located across from the Olympia Transit Center at 215 Washington Street, Olympia, WA 98501.

In the Walk N Roll Bike Shop we build a lot of bikes. Every youth graduate of our Earn-A-Bike and Bike MVP programs is offered a refurbished bicycle to keep. This helps us provide an equitable education experience. Our students all have a reliable bike to learn on, which continues to serve their transportation needs after they graduate. In order to meet this need, our volunteer-staffed shop has to perform complete overhauls on around 100 bikes a year.
Having a steady stream of quality bicycles in the shop makes this much easier, and 2019 was a great year for donations.Thank you to everyone who brought a donation into our shop, and to our community donors: City of Tumwater, Tumwater Police Department, Joy Ride Bikes, Deschutes River Cyclery, the Moore Wright Group, and our Earn-A-Bike families.
With your donations, and the 1,699 hours our volunteers spent in our shop and classes, we were able to offer bikes to every one of our 95 students that needed one.
If you would like to learn how to donate a bike, bike parts, or to volunteer in our shop, or with our classes, please visit our website or contact us at walknroll@intercitytransit.com.
