Workgroup opportunity: Apple Health DC:0-5TM crosswalk

2SHB1325 requires Apple Health mental health providers to use the Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC:0-5™) to assess and diagnose children birth through age five.

Many clinicians use the DC:0-5 TM crosswalk as a reference guide to convert DC: 0 – 5™ diagnoses to associated diagnostic codes and diagnoses. The Health Care Authority (HCA) is in the process of developing a new crosswalk informed by clinician, stakeholder, and advocate feedback. To complete this task, HCA will convene a community workgroup, launching in January 2022

DC:0-5™ Crosswalk workgroup description

The workgroup will meet for 90 minutes once a month to review diagnoses and discuss how they can be cross walked. Members will be expected to come to each meeting with feedback.

The workgroup is currently scheduled to run from February 2022 through June 2022; if work is not completed within the expected timeframe, additional meetings may be needed. The exact dates of meetings will be selected once workgroup members have been determined.

How to apply

HCA is now accepting expressions of interest for participation in the workgroup. To be considered, please complete the expression of interest form by January 7, 2022.

We intend to use submitted responses to help determine participants, with an emphasis on equitable and diverse participation but we will try to share opportunities with everyone who is interested.

Ideal candidates will be those working with Medicaid-eligible children ages birth through five and their caregivers, specifically those with experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions for this age group.

We will announce workgroup participants at our Kickoff meeting January 20, 2022
