Additional resources for upcoming LTD changes

As mentioned in our October 1 message, the SEBB long-term disability (LTD) benefit is changing. Starting January 1, 2022, SEBB-eligible employees will be automatically enrolled in employee-paid (formerly supplemental) LTD. At any time, employees can reduce to a 50-percent coverage level or decline the employee-paid benefit.

We have created several resources for you and your employees about this change.

We will also send you a forwardable email message in late October about the LTD changes. The message will contain links to many of the resources below for you to distribute to your employees through your preferred communication methods.

  • October Intercom newsletter — mails on October 12
  • Brochure to eligible employees not currently enrolled in employee-paid LTD — mails October 15 (Update after brochure printing: Employees can reduce or decline their employee-paid LTD at any time using SEBB My Account. They must use the Long Term Disability Insurance Enrollment and Change form only if evidence of insurability is required.)
