Confluence Health, a healthcare system that serves north central Washington, has announced its intent not to renew its contract with Premera Blue Cross ending January 31, 2022.

The HCA understands the ongoing conversations with Confluence Health and Premera Blue Cross may cause concern for members or other stakeholders. This also includes members enrolled in the Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) who currently access in-network care at Confluence Health through the Blue Cross Blue Shield contract currently held by Premera Blue Cross.

For SEBB members enrolled in Premera Blue Cross or UMP, nothing is changing for current 2021 coverage. In-network coverage with Confluence is still fully available for those enrolled in Premera Blue Cross and UMP plans.

We are monitoring negotiations and making clear to both parties that we expect SEBB members to receive accurate, timely information about Confluence’s provider status. Our priority is ensuring SEBB members can make informed decisions during this year’s open enrollment for coverage beginning in 2022.
