HCA’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery will host the annual homeless outreach academy on Thursday, September 23.
This academy is designed to help our local behavioral health and nonprofit agencies train current and future outreach professionals. These courses will assist the outreach workforce gain the necessary skills and resources to conduct outreach confidently and safely.
The academy will feature nationally recognized staff of Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) and local subject matter experts on homelessness outreach, engagement, and recovery services. This virtual event will be managed through the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Washington. Certification of Completion will be offered to attendees who complete this course. CEU’s will be offered upon request.

In July 2021, the Research and Data Analysis (RDA) Division of the Department of Social and Health Services released their second evaluation report on the Foundational Community Supports (FCS) program. The report covers the first 18 months of FCS implementation, from January 2018 through June 2019.

HCA’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) is now accepting applications for the 2022 Fidelity Review Incentive Funds. These funds will allow a limited number of FCS and HARPS contracted providers to apply for incentive dollars to participate in the fidelity review process. The interest letter explains DBHR’s philosophy on continuous quality improvement, how to qualify/apply for these incentive funds, and if you are chosen; what you can expect to receive.
Applications will be accepted until all of the funds are spoken for. We look forward to hearing from you.

State and local programs are distributing billions of dollars in rental assistance to help renters stay housed during the pandemic. Visit the Department of Commerce’s rent assistance program or the consumer financial protection bureau (CFPB) Rental Assistance Finder to find resources. The CFPB’s site also includes resources to help renters and landlords understand how to navigate various financial hardships related to the pandemic.

Behavioral health service providers can help individuals who may be facing housing emergencies. The toolkit includes housing resources, social media messaging, and poster templates. The toolkit can help to raise awareness about the rental assistance resources available to tenants and landlords.
