Check out our Medicaid Transformation Project website section

The Medicaid Transformation Project (MTP) now has its own section on the Health Care Authority (HCA) website. The MTP section contains new and updated information about:

  • Washington State’s Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration waiver, called MTP.
  • What we’re working on, including MTP’s five initiatives:
    1. Transformation through Accountable Communities of Health (ACHs) and Indian Health Care Providers (IHCPs)
    2. Supporting older adults and family caregivers—also called long-term services and supports (LTSS)
    3. Foundational Community Supports (FCS)
    4. Substance use disorder (SUD) IMD*
    5. Mental health IMD*
  • The state’s one-year extension request—that if approved—would create a sixth year for MTP.
  • Our partners, including individual pages for each ACH.
  • How we track and measure success.
  • Helpful information about our MTP activities, including reports, resources, meetings and materials, events, and announcements.

Transformation work that is not MTP-specific, such as shared decision making, value-based purchasing, and the Washington Statewide Common Measure Set, are now available on other pages of the HCA website. Other transformation-related resources are also linked on our new Resources page.

*IMD stands for institution for mental diseases, which is a large facility dedicated to psychiatric care (more than 16 beds where more than 50 percent of the residents are admitted for psychiatric care).
