What’s the Health Care Cost Transparency Board?

Governor Inslee signed the board into law last year (House Bill 2457) with the purpose of reducing health care cost growth and increasing price transparency. Each year, Washington residents are paying more and more for their health care. In addition, rising health care prices affect how health care plans (payers) pay health care providers.

To support this work, the board is working with Milbank Memorial Fund. Milbank is a foundation working to improve population health by connecting leaders with evidence and experience. Washington is one of five states that will participate in the Peterson-Milbank Program for Sustainable Health Care Costs. Through this program, the board will receive technical assistance as they implement health care cost growth targets.

Read Milbank’s recent press release for more information.
