SEBB My Account Update

To enhance communication and awareness, we are providing GovDelivery notifications to alert Benefits Administrators (BAs) on the details of updates to the SEBB My Account (SMA) program. We believe these notifications will provide better awareness of the developmental efforts to improve SMA and perhaps allow BAs to prioritize issues based on a more up-to-date knowledge of the issues being addressed within the program.

See below for details on the latest updates to SMA implemented Thursday 1/28/21:

  • The Coverage Summary tab, where subscribers can view and download their statement of insurance, had been displaying a message that open enrollment benefits will be in effect January 1, 2020. The language has now been updated to January 1, 2021.
  • Previously, when a subscriber made a change for tobacco attestation from Yes to No, the summary of coverage elections was still displaying the $25 premium surcharge, even though the subscriber was not being billed the $25 surcharge. This issue has now been resolved. We are aware of a continuing issue when a subscriber creates a Special Open Enrollment Event (SOE), the summary of coverage elections may still display the tobacco attestation incorrectly; however it will be displayed correctly on their Statement of Insurance and Coverage Summary tab. We are working to resolve this bug ASAP.
  • For subscribers who did not complete their spouse or State-Registered Domestic Partner Coverage Premium Surcharge re-attestation during open enrollment, and have defaulted into paying the spousal surcharge for 2021, will now correctly see the $50 Spousal Surcharge displayed on their Coverage Summary tab as well as their Statement of Insurance.
