Plan Changes for 2021 Plan Year

The SEBB Annual Open Enrollment ends on Monday, November 23rd. We recommend that you remind your employees that any changes made in SEBB My Account must be completed before 11:59PM on November 23, 2020. Also, please remind employees to log into their SEBB My Account to verify the plans they and their dependents are enrolled in. If employees do not make changes by the end of the Annual Open Enrollment period, then their current benefit elections (except for medical FSA and DCAP elections) will stay in effect for the 2021 plan year.

Permitted changes include:

  • Change of medical, dental, or vision plan.
  • Add a dependent medical dental, or vision plan.
  • Remove a dependent from medical, dental, or vision plan.
  • Enroll in SEBB medical coverage, if previously waived.
  • Waive SEBB medical coverage.
  • Reattest to the spouse or state-registered domestic partner coverage premium surcharge.

Unlike SEBB’s initial open enrollment last year, there will be no period for employees to make adjustments or corrections following this year’s annual open enrollment.* Consequently, employees who do not make any changes by the end of the current annual open enrollment deadline will not be permitted to make changes to their SEBB benefits until the next annual open enrollment or until they experience a special open enrollment.

* Subscribers may still make adjustments or corrections to their spousal surcharge attestations until December 31, 2020, as allowed in WAC 180-30-050. 


Some subscribers were unable to make benefit elections and continued to be prompted to make attestations.  This has been resolved, subscribers with this issue are strongly encouraged to log into SEBB My Account again to make their elections, unless they were already updated by a benefit administrator.
