Submission guide ready: Washington State Prescription Drug Transparency Reporting

The Health Care Authority (HCA) is writing you with more critical information pertaining to the Prescription Drug Price Transparency program.

HCA recently sent you a notification containing a link to the draft submission guide. Thank you to those who provided comments back to us. We are happy to announce that the submission guide has been finalized and is available for download.

What do I need to do?

Download your copy of the submission guide

We have posted the final pharmacy service administrative organization (PSAO) submission guide for you to download.

Send your organization’s submission in conformance with the submission guide

HCA will begin accepting data submissions on August 1, 2020. Please familiarize yourself with the submission guide in order to streamline the submission process. You are required to provide your submission by October 1, 2020.

If you have not already done so…

  • Please confirm that you are the correct recipient of these notifications by registering as a data reporting entity. If you are not the correct contact in your organization, please forward this to the responsible person so they may register.
  • Download, complete, and return the submitter registration form.
    • Please only submit one registration for each subsidiary or affiliate of your organization that meets the definition of a Carrier, Covered Manufacturer, Pharmacy Benefit Manager, or Pharmacy Services Administrative Organization.
    • Once complete, email the form back to HCA.
  • Please do this as soon as possible but no later than August 1, 2020 as failure to submit registration information could delay your ability to be in compliance with the new legislation.

What can I expect next?

If you have not yet received one, HCA will soon be sending you a drug price transparency (DPT) number. This is a unique number you are required to include as part of your data submission. Specific details of how to incorporate it into your data submission will be outlined in the submission guide. You will receive confirmation once your data has been received by HCA.
