2021 open enrollment dates set

The SEBB Program’s annual open enrollment will start October 26, 2020 and end November 23, 2020 for the 2021 plan year. Employees can learn more about what changes they can make during open enrollment on our Change your coverage webpage. Current subscribers who do not take action during open enrollment will keep their current coverage, as long as their plan is still available.


Mail date changed for SEBB Initial Notice of COBRA and Continuation Coverage Rights

We will start mailing the SEBB Initial Notice of COBRA and Continuation Coverage Rights to your employees on March 20.

All employees enrolled in SEBB benefits receive this notice, which was originally scheduled to begin mailing today (March 13). When an employee is terminated from SEBB employee coverage, they receive a SEBB Continuation Coverage Election Notice booklet. The SEBB Continuation Coverage Election Notice booklet explains how the employee and their dependents, if eligible, can continue coverage under the SEBB Program. It also includes forms to elect coverage.


The latest on SEBB appeals

Our SEBB appeals team is still working through the appeals postmarked before March 1, 2020.

As of this morning (March 13), we have sent out more than 6,400 letters informing employees that their appeals have been approved. We have closed 88% of received appeals, with approximately 1,000 remaining to be processed. We may be contacting you for information as we continue to review appeals.

We will start sending updated lists of subscribers who have submitted appeals to HCA this afternoon. We included information about this in the February 28 SEBB Update.

We appreciate the continued patience from you and your employees as we continue to process these appeals.
