New ACH documents show Medicaid Transformation progress

New documents are available outlining the state’s Accountable Communities of Health (ACHs) semiannual reports and implementation plans.

As part of the Healthier Washington Medicaid Transformation, ACHs submit reports to provide updates on transformation activities, project implementation, and to show progress on required milestones. These reporting requirements are outlined in the Project Toolkit.

Semiannual reports are submitted twice per year. The first set describes progress made by each ACH on selected transformation projects from January 1 through June 30, 2018. The reports are reviewed by the state’s Independent Assessor to determine whether project milestones have been achieved and incentive funds have been earned.

In addition to the semiannual reports, ACHs submitted implementation plans on October 1. These plans provide details on how ACHs will implement transformation activities in their regions.

As with the semiannual reports, implementation plans will be reviewed by the state’s Independent Assessor to determine milestone achievement and incentives, and ensure ACHs are on track for success. The assessment will last through December 2018. Funds earned by achieving this reporting milestone will be distributed in the next payment cycle, spring 2019.

Approved semi-annual reports and submitted implementation plans can be found on the ACH submitted documents page.

The Healthier Washington Medicaid Transformation is a partnership between Washington State and the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Over five years (2017-2021), this partnership intends to improve the health care system, improve the overall health of Washington’s Apple Health (Medicaid) population, and use state resources more effectively.
