HCA selects evaluator for Washington's Medicaid Transformation effort

The Washington State Health Care Authority has executed a contract with the Center for Health Systems Effectiveness (CHSE) at Oregon Health & Science University to serve as the independent evaluator for Washington's Medicaid Transformation effort.

HCA has updated its measurement guide to document how performance toward health system transformation is measured throughout the five-year Healthier Washington Medicaid Transformation effort.

Annual value-based payment survey seeks provider participation

HCA is seeking provider participation in its annual value-based payment survey. The survey assists HCA in tracking progress toward the statewide goal of paying for value-based care, rather than paying for volume of care. It also provides valuable insight into the challenges providers face when considering adopting new payment arrangements and inform HCA's efforts to support the provider community.

SWACH welcomes new leadership

Barbe West

Southwest Washington Accountable Community of Health (SWACH) board of directors welcomed Barbe West as executive director.

Barbe's experience includes nine years as the executive director of the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington. Prior to that, she was the executive director of Community Choices and president of the Northwest Region for Kaiser Permanente.
