OFM State Human Resources and the HRMS Data Stewards have recently finalized updated data definitions for the work location fields in HRMS. This data definition activity began after State HR received a number of questions and heard about challenges raised by agencies around the use of work location data at the enterprise level. Agencies shared concerns about missing or unclear guidance on specific scenarios and processes, especially after the pandemic and many employees started working full time from home. The new and revised data definitions answer many of the questions raised and provide clarity on how work location data is used and should be coded for specific scenarios. This improved documentation will allow agencies and the enterprise to use work location data more consistently to make decisions across multiple policy areas.
These data definition improvement activities are part of ongoing work by the HRMS Data Stewards to achieve more accurate and consistent workforce data.
