October 2026
Every year, we celebrate three special Days of Service. This year, our first Day of Service is Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 24.
On Days of Service, partner sites host special projects to bring members, staff and community together in service. Will you be hosting a project for Make a Difference Day? Make sure to let us know by completing our Days of Service form. We’ll promote your project on our website.
Are you wondering what makes a good Day of Service project? Need help brainstorming or planning? Contact Hilary to set up a meeting.

 Member Training Event This Month
Members and site staff, please mark your calendars for our two-day member training event October 27, 28 and 29. Members must be excused from regular service activities to allow them to attend.
Members, look for an email from our Training Specialist, Bryce Bateman, coming to you the week of October 19 with session info & links to join. Please contact Bryce if you don't see an email come through.
 Member Assistance Program
Members, during your service term you and your household members have access to free, confidential resources through the Member Assistance Program.
Provided by AllOne Health, MAP provides
- phone, webchat and in-person counseling,
- support for stress management, service-life balance, legal issues, financial planning,
- webinars, podcasts, and more.
To learn more, register for the next MAP orientation on October 27 at 12:00 noon (if you won't be able to attend, register anyway - a recording will be emailed to you).
For more details on how to connect with MAP, visit our website (Member Resources / Member Assistance Program).
Members and site staff, with mid-term elections approaching, here's a reminder about certain activities prohibited during member service time: members may not participate in political activities of any kind including advocating or lobbying for candidates, initiatives or legislation, or conducting a voter registration drive. If part of your organization's work is involved in these activities, site staff must ensure that members are not included. For more details, review section IX Prohibited Activities in the Member Service Agreement. Outside of service (on their own time), members may engage in election-related activities, but cannot wear AmeriCorps or WSC-branded gear while doing so, nor give the impression that they're acting on behalf of AmeriCorps or WSC. If you have questions about this, or other prohibited activities, please reach out to your WSC Coordinator.
Aside from this, with a lens on civic engagement, Americans are encouraged to make their voice heard at the ballot box. To learn more about registering to vote, how and when to vote, and what will be on the ballot, visit the Secretary of State's website.
Site staff, we have two posters that are required to be posted at your member's service site: (1) “AmeriCorps Serving Here” should be proudly displayed in a public area, and (2) "Prohibited Activities" should be posted in an area that all staff can see and reference often (like a break room or near the required OSHA/Department of Labor posters).
