Paid Leave: Planned system outage
Heads up! Next week, Paid Leave accounts will be unavailable for a few days while we upgrade the system. The update will start at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, and we expect it to last through the weekend. You and your employees will not be able to log in to accounts or call our Customer Care Team during the outage.
If you need to work in your account Log in before the planned system outage begins on May 16, or wait until next week to log in after our system outage ends.

WA Cares: Attend a webinar
Join us for a discussion about the importance of brain health. We’ll cover:
- Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and traumatic brain injuries.
- How to prevent these conditions.
- Resources for people affected by them.

Unemployment Insurance: Find unemployment tax forms
Find tax forms and publications on esd.wa.gov that help you manage your account.
Report a change in your business
Use the Business Change Form (PDF, 208KB) to:
- Update your contact information.
- Change your mailing address.
- Notify us that you sold your business.
- Close your unemployment insurance account.
Update owner or officer information
Submit an Update Ownership Information form (PDF, 748KB) if any business owners or officers change. When adding any owners or officers, remember to include the start date. If you are removing any, add an end date.
Ask us to waive fees
Use this online form to contact us to request a waiver if you do not agree with penalties or interest charged to your account. Learn more on our website about how to request a tax penalty waiver.
Ask us for a refund
If you overpaid your unemployment taxes, you can request a refund by filling out a Refund Request Application (PDF, 990KB).
Amend a tax report
To correct wages reported on a prior tax report:
Set up power of attorney
You can submit a Power of Attorney for Unemployment Insurance form (PDF, 165KB) if you would like us to share details about your account with a third party.
How to submit forms The fastest way to get us any form is to email it to UIFiles@esd.wa.gov. Please submit your forms only once. Sending multiple copies increases processing time.

Unemployment Insurance: Remember to enter SOC codes or job titles in your tax reports
When you file your unemployment tax reports, be sure to enter for each employee one of these things:
- Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code.
- Job title.
Starting with reports filed for Q1 2024, you may have to pay a penalty if you do not enter a SOC code or job title for each employee.
