March 2024
During the month of March, join us in celebrating Women’s History Month: dedicated to reflecting on and honoring the contributions women have made in our nation's history, military, science and culture. Since the founding of the United States, women like Sojourner Truth, Abigail Adams, Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, and Rosa Parks (just to name a few), have left their mark and have helped our nation in its journey to build a fairer, more just society. This year’s theme, “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion”, established by the National Women’s History Alliance, “..recognizes women throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions.” Learn more about Women’s History Month by visiting: National Women’s History Alliance, history.com, and womenshistorymonth.gov. Staying on Track
Members, now is a good time to check in on your completed service hours and confirm whether you're on track to complete the minimum hours required by the end of your term.
Keep in mind - as explained in your member service agreement - completion of your service term is defined by (1) the term length (10.5 months, 8.5 months, or 6 months) and (2) the minimum required hours that must be served (1,700, 1,200 or 900).
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your WSC Coordinator.
Lunch & Learn: Supporting Member Development
|
|
Site staff, supporting your member's professional development during their term of service with you is critical to their post-service career goals. Join us on April 3 at 11:30 a.m. where we'll share some best practices for helping your members plan for post-term next steps, and open a roundtable discussion to let you share your ideas with fellow sites in what you're doing to promote professional development opportunities. |
Site staff, if you haven't yet applied to host WSC or WRC members for the 2024-25 program year, we invite you to do so as soon as possible to give yourself the best recruitment runway to fill all of your positions by the fall.
We're hosting application Q&A sessions every Friday at 11:30 a.m. - please stop in if you have any questions, or contact your WSC Coordinator.
