Prep now for MLK Day

Every year, national service programs including AmeriCorps get together to volunteer and give back to their communities to celebrate and honor the work, life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The MLK Day of Service (January 16) is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service – “a day on, not a day off.”

This is an opportunity for members and sites to create a service project for their local community to volunteer at (like a beach cleanup or tree planting), or for members to find an existing project to serve at for the day. If you'll have a volunteer event you'd like our help in sharing out, please let us know.

AmeriCorps will be hosting a live webinar on December 1 with tips for effectively promoting your MLK Day service project and engaging your local elected officials. Register here.

Due by Dec 15

Site staff, Quarter 1 project performance reports are due by Dec 15. If you (or your assigned reporter) are not set up in America Learns to submit your report, contact your WSC Coordinator right away.

Stories due by Dec 15

Members - To help us share your "boots on the ground" AmeriCorps experience, we ask that you submit a story of service every quarter. Please submit your Quarter 1 story in TimeTracker by Dec 15.
