Member timesheets

Welcome aboard, new members and site staff! Within the next week, please get signed up to access our TimeTracker timesheet system. Instructions are posted on our website, under Member Resources and Site Staff Resources.

Note that most of you will need a SAW account in order to use the system.

Please allow up to 2 weeks for us to set you up from the time you send in the notification form. Make note of hours served in the interim, then enter on your first timesheet.

WSC online trainings

WSC recorded trainings for members and sites are available online via TalentLMS. Within 5 days from your term start date, look for an email from noreply@talentlms with a weblink, login credentials and how to navigate the system. All assigned trainings will be posted here – some at the beginning of the term, and others assigned throughout the year.

Contact Bryce Bateman if you need technical assistance.

Member gear

WSC member gear will be mailed out to sites in late October.

Save the dates!

Our annual member training event is scheduled for October 25-27 from 1pm-5pm each day, held via Zoom. All members are required to attend, so please mark your calendars now. Content will include full group training sessions each day, along with time set aside to connect with WSC staff and AmeriCorps peers to develop a network of support and address any pressing questions you may have. Be on the lookout for registration information in late September, and let WSC Training Specialist Bryce Bateman know if you have any unavoidable conflicts with this event.

Reading Corps members will also have an introductory Reading Power training on November 1 from 8am-4pm. WRC members are expected to attend online, in addition to the annual event outlined above.

Lunch & Learns

WSC will be hosting interactive online "Lunch and Learns" for site staff during the program year, covering various topics around member support and project management. Invitations will be sent via email prior to each live session.

Join us for our next one on September 7 from 11:30am-12:30pm to chat about member recruitment strategies if you're still filling open positions.

WA-AmeriCorps Swearing-In

Our state's service commission, Serve Washington, will be hosting a live, online swearing-in event for all AmeriCorps members serving across the state on October 21 starting at 10am that will also include optional trainings in the afternoon. More details coming soon!

Days of service

Every year, national service programs, including AmeriCorps, get together to volunteer and give back to their communities on special days of service. This year, we will be observing:

-- MLK Day, Jan 16

-- César Chávez Day, March 31

-- Earth Day, April 22

These are an opportunity for members and sites to create a service project for the local community to volunteer at (like a beach cleanup or tree planting), or to find an existing project to serve at for the day.

Time spent planning and running an event count as service hours. Start planning now to host events for these important days!

We're turning 40!

WA Service Corps will be turning 40 years old on May 23, 2023!

We're planning events now to commemorate, so mark the date on your calendar and get ready to celebrate with us!
