WA Cares Fund: Have you refunded any collected premiums?
Remember, if you withheld WA Cares premiums, you need to reimburse employees as soon as possible. The law mandates that all premiums must have been refunded to employees within 120 days of January 19, 2022.
The Employment Security Department (ESD) won’t accept any WA Cares premium payments in 2022.
Paid Leave: Check Paid Leave wage report statuses for quarter one
Your Paid Leave employer account shows the status of all wage reports you or your TPA have filed.
Log in and check the status of your quarter one report, if you had payroll. While you are logged in, double check if you have a credit or a balance on your account—this will help you accurately submit payment in the future!
How to check your wage report statuses
Log in, view your “Wage Submission History” and review your quarter wage reports.
What the status means
-
“Pending”: You started submitting wages, but you haven’t submitted yet.
-
"Processed": You've successfully reported for that quarter.
-
“Rejected”: Click “Record Errors” to review the file errors. Correct the errors in your file and resubmit.
-
Don’t see a report? If you had payroll but do not have a report filed, upload any missing wage files and submit.
The status will change to "Processed" within 48 hours if the report is successfully submitted. If you have trouble filing or correcting a rejected report, call our Customer Care Team.

We’ve updated our certification of a serious health condition forms. Now, when someone applies for leave, they can fill out a medical certification form (with their healthcare provider) that relates to the type of leave they are taking. Note: This is not the application for Paid Leave benefits.
The forms
- Certification form (pregnancy and birth)
- Certification form (family leave)
- Certification form (medical leave)
The forms are available to download in the Help Center.
Unemployment Insurance: Updates to bulk filing specifications for EAMS users
In May, we updated our Bulk filing in EAMS webpage. We added new bulk filing specifications and instructions. We recommend bulk filing for employers who report more than 5,000 wage records.
Bulk filing
Employers who use Employer Account Management Services (EAMS) can use the updated technical specifications on bulk filing starting with their third quarter 2022 reporting.
Employers can still access the current technical specifications, which they can use for reporting through second quarter 2022.
Bulk amendments
We also updated our bulk amendment instructions for employers to use starting with their third-quarter 2022 reporting. Just like the technical specifications, bulk amendment instructions for use through second quarter 2022 are still available.
More EAMS upgrades coming
We’re making upgrades to EAMS this summer. We’ll have new information about these upgrades soon.
