LMS trainings

Members, if you've fallen behind on hours over the holidays, don’t forget to check TalentLMS to see if you have any outstanding training courses to complete! These courses count as hours towards your service term goal - enter them as “Training” hours on your timesheet. If you log in and see that any of your assigned courses have expired, contact our Training Specialist, Bryce Bateman.

Evals due soon

Site staff, your member's first evaluation is due by January 31 - please start planning now.

We strongly encourage you to also fill out a professional development plan with your member to create tangible goals for the rest of the year and help your member successfully achieve them.

COVID reminders

Members, please be sure to read the email we sent on January 11 with important information related to your service during the ongoing pandemic.

MLK Day 2022

AmeriCorps members everywhere honor the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by serving on this National Day of Day of Service (January 17). Through service, we can build more equitable and just communities to underpin racial equity, expand civic opportunities, and foster respect for individual differences.

We have service projects posted on our website you can participate in with fellow members if you don't have one already. To share your project, contact Ariel Kay.

If you'd rather serve virtually but need ideas, check these out from AmeriCorps, Teach For America, and Michigan State University.

We'd love to see photos of your service day! Please email your WSC Coordinator or tag us on Facebook or Instagram.

Welcome, new WSC staff!

Please help us welcome Paige Sharp and Rebecca Vigoren, who just joined our team as Site & Member Services Coordinators!

Both are AmeriCorps alums, and come with experience in leading a local VISTA program.

Check out our team page to learn more!

Student loans & forbearance

AmeriCorps members are eligible to put qualified student loans in forbearance for the duration of the service term through my.americorps.gov.

Putting your loans in forbearance now will help ensure you don’t get a surprise loan bill when student loan payments resume. Interest accrued on loans in forbearance is also eligible to be paid by the National Service Trust upon successful completion of your service term.

Learn more about AmeriCorps loan forbearance here.

Geared up

Members, the best way for us to spread the word about the great things you're doing as an AmeriCorps member is through pics of you at your service site sporting your new WSC-AmeriCorps gear!

Got a selfie or a group pic with your team? Please share with your WSC Coordinator!
