Plan for holiday closures

Members, start planning now for serving during the holiday season! Remember, you can't have a break of more than 5 days during your term, even for site closures during holiday breaks.

Options include serving a few extra hours now, planning for alternative service, or virtual service during a site closure.

Please talk to your site staff and WSC Coordinator to help you come up with a plan.

WSC member training re-cap

The first ever virtual fall training event for WSC members took place over Zoom October 26th-30th. We'd like to thank all WSC members for your high level of engagement throughout the week - the event was a huge success, due in large part to your enthusiasm to participate during the presentations and to connect with and support each other during the daily networking sessions.
WSC members who were unable to attend any of the main content sessions from 2:00-4:00pm (or if you began service after 11/1/20) will be assigned recordings of the sessions in TalentLMS in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience as we work to get them posted.
The event concluded with a compilation video of WSC members recording themselves saying the AmeriCorps Pledge - we loved all of the video submissions and did our best to include as many of you as possible.

Online training

All WSC/WRC members and primary site staff should have received login credentials for the TalentLMS online training portal at this point in the service term. If you haven't received your credentials or have not received communication concerning WSC training requirements for members and site staff, please contact our Training Specialist, Bryce Bateman ( as soon as possible.

Stories due December 15

Members, your Quarter 1 story of service is due next month. Here are a few tips:

- Share the impact your service is having! Review our tip sheet for how a short story can be written.

- Check out these stories from some of last year's members.

Your stories are important! We share them with our grant funders, on our website and social media to let the public know how critical AmeriCorps is.

MLK Day 2021

January 18 is Martin Luther King Jr Day - start preparing now for this special day of service, and how you might involve members of the community in socially distanced or virtual activities.
