DSHS DVR Regional Administrator
The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation within DSHS is seeking an Administrator for Region 3. Serving 13 counties, including 15 federally recognized tribes and 2 American Indian Organizations. You’re responsible to direct and oversee the regional field services operations for all DVR services in Region 3, including client services and personnel management.
This is a fantastic, high-visibility position, offering the opportunity to work with community partners, organizations, internal and external stakeholders including tribes, throughout the state, to develop partnerships and leverage resources.
DVR provides individualized vocational rehabilitation counseling and employment services and supports to people with disabilities who want to work but face substantial barriers in finding meaningful and sustained employment. In addition, we provide technical assistance and training to employers regarding the recruiting and hiring of people with disabilities.
Some of what you’ll do:
- Develops and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with a wide variety of providers, tribes, community-based organizations and stakeholder.
- Provide leadership within the region to help ensure continued quality improvement, risk mitigation, service quality and consistency, the development of strategic partnerships that reflect DVR’s core values, and respond to local constituent concerns.
- Managing the comprehensive regional service delivery system as part of the statewide system
- Oversees all staff located within region 3. Acts as the appointing authority for hiring, disciplinary actions, regional union grievances and works in partnership with the Human Resources
- Assures field services comply with federal, state, departmental laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, and provides guidance and direction for staff roles and responsibilities.
- Collaborates with labor partners on personnel issues.
- Oversees the development and delivery of staff training, and develops talent within the region to enhance regional leadership, efficiency and improve morale.
- Manage and monitor the regional budget to ensure the region is operating within the expenditures and FTE allotment.

What we're looking for
Professional with a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, and at least four years of direct experience managing or supervising vocational rehabilitation or similar services.
Demonstrated knowledge of department and partner programs & services and experience with interagency service teams involving braided funding and/or services.
Demonstrated understanding of the job accommodation process and the use of assistive technology. Demonstrated history working with diverse partners in the community, including disability advocacy groups, tribal partners, and businesses.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation, Psychology, Human Services, or closely related field, plus at least six years of direct experience managing or supervising vocational rehabilitation or similar services.
Demonstrated knowledge of department and partner programs & services and experience with interagency service teams involving braided funding and/or services.
Demonstrated understanding of the job accommodation process and the use of assistive technology. Demonstrated history working with diverse partners in the community, including disability advocacy groups, tribal partners, and businesses.
A minimum of five years of direct supervisory experience, supervising staff responsible for delivering services to the public, in a social/human services setting is highly desirable, is highly desirable. Experience may have been gained concurrently.
